Bar & Bat Mitzvah

The big day is coming up.

Around age 12 for a Bat Mitzvah and 13 for a Bar Mitzvah, your child becomes a Jewish adult. Here's how it usually goes:

~6 months before

Lessons begin — Hebrew reading, the Torah portion, and what the day means.

~2 months before

We finalize the date, the honors, and what your child will lead in the service.

The day itself

Your child is called to the Torah as a Jewish adult — surrounded by family and community.

After

A celebration at Chabad, exactly as festive as you want it to be.
