We keep two one-bedroom suites for people who need to be near a hospital — a parent whose child is at Stanford, a family keeping vigil, somebody who cannot face the drive home tonight. There is no charge, no deposit and no invoice afterwards. You do not have to be Jewish and you do not have to explain yourself.

Yes. There is no charge, no deposit, no invoice afterwards and no suggested donation. Somebody paid for these rooms so that they would be there when a family needed them, and that is the whole arrangement.
No. If the room is free and you need it, it is yours.
No. There is a box on the form and it is optional, and it says so. People usually tell us anyway, and it helps us look after them — but nobody in this position should have to justify themselves to a web form.

Ask anyway. We will look at nearby dates, at the other suite, and at families in the community who host people — and something can almost always be found. A full calendar is not the end of the conversation.
The rooms are set up for people staying a while rather than for a night. Tell us what you need when you ask and we will tell you exactly what is there.
Tell us and we will change them. Plans change constantly in a hospital week and it is never a problem — you will not be charged and you will not be asked to explain.
