Monthly giving
The Chai Club
A small amount every month, from many families, is what actually keeps the lights on — steadier than any single gift, and easier to give.
A shul’s year is lumpy. Costs arrive every month; giving arrives in bursts around the holidays. Monthly members are what smooth that out — they are the reason the doors are open in February as reliably as in September.
Nobody has joined yet. Somebody has to be first.
This is worked out from real monthly gifts every time the page loads. Nothing is rounded up, and a gift that has not gone through is not counted.
What members give
Chai
$18
Eighteen a month. The number this is all named after.
Double chai
$36
Where most families land.
Chai ×10
$180
Underwrites a family that could not otherwise take part.
Chai ×20
$360
Keeps a programme running through the year.
Any amount joins. These are the usual ones, not a set of rules — $10 a month from somebody who means it is worth more to this place than a number chosen to look right.
Join
It comes out on the same day each month. You can change the amount or stop it whenever you like, yourself, without asking anyone — see below.
You stay in control
Change your card, change the amount, pause it, or stop altogether — all of it yourself, at any hour, without having to explain anything to anybody.
Chabad of Silicon Valley is a registered 501(c)(3). A receipt reaches you after every monthly gift, and a full statement of the year’s giving arrives each January.
