Community Passover Seder

Celebrate your freedom with family, friends, and community — at a table where you'll feel right at home.

This year

First Seder — the night of Wednesday, April 21, 2027

Second Seder — the night of Thursday, April 22, 2027

Both Seders begin in the evening. Start times follow candle lighting and shift each year — this year's are on the times page.

What a Seder is

The Seder is the meal on each of the first two nights of Passover where the story of the Exodus gets told again — out loud, in order, with matzah, bitter herbs, and four cups of wine marking the way through. It is the oldest continuously kept ritual in Judaism, and it is meant to be done together.

Ours runs in English and Hebrew with Haggadahs on the table, so you can follow along whether you've done this every year of your life or never once. It is a long evening, but not a solemn one — there is food between the sections, and plenty of conversation.

How the evening runs

Roughly: candle lighting, a first course, Kiddush, then the Haggadah — the telling of the story — with a second course partway through, and the rest of the Haggadah after that. It finishes around late evening.

Cost

The Seders are free of charge. No one is turned away, and nobody is asked to pay at the door. If you'd like to help cover the cost of the evening, you're welcome to donate — but it is not expected and not a condition of coming.
